
TSBDC Digital Literacy Workshop – Two Sessions:
-First session is in person at the TSBDC @ Austin Peay
-Second Session will be via zoom.

The Digital Literacy workshop for business people will be a comprehensive session aimed at equipping attendees with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively navigate the digital landscape for modern business.
SESSION 1 IN PERSON
Part one of the workshop will be in-person and cover three main areas: terms, tools, and techniques.
TERMS
In the terms segment, attendees will learn the key terms and concepts associated with digital marketing. This will include an overview of topics such as social media platforms, modern website use, a basic overview of email marketing, and social media marketing terms. There will be a “Zero Judgment Q&A Segment” so bring your questions!
TOOLS
The tools segment of the workshop will introduce attendees to the most commonly used digital marketing tools. This will include training with tools such as new posting tools and video creation tools and to name a few.
TECHNIQUES
In the techniques segment, attendees will learn the various techniques and strategies used in digital marketing. This will cover topics such as content marketing and an overview of frequency and best practices for these platforms.
By the end of the workshop, attendees will have a foundation in digital literacy and be equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to develop and execute effective digital marketing campaigns for their businesses.
SESSION 2 REMOTE
When: April 11th 9am – 11:30am
Where: ZOOM *This will be a remote training
Cost: $25
Part 2 of the Digital Literacy Workshop will be virtual.
With the ever-changing landscape of social media and digital marketing platforms, this workshop covers best practices and tried and true posting strategies to help your business.
We’ll cover the newsfeed and ads, reporting and engagement and the importance of consistency.
During this 2.5 hour virtual workshop, we cover:
- TikTok
- YouTube
We will also discuss: - How to develop effective content
- How to create a simple content calendar
- How to maximize video for your business
- Best use of ‘short form video’ – Reels, Stories, Shorts, TikTok
- What’s on the digital marketing horizon for 2023
Jason Elkins will be teaching this workshop. Jason runs 100 Cups Consulting, has worked in web and digital marketing since 2008. He launched his own marketing coaching company in 2010 focusing on helping businesses and entrepreneurs grow their businesses through digital marketing. He teaches workshops and speaks on social media, digital marketing, video and web.
