Jason graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Organizational Communication and jumped into business development.
After years of top sales honors in the staffing business, he began chasing start-up and entrepreneurial dreams. Always quick to adapt to new technologies, Jason utilized blogging and social media to help increase his sales, and when his job ended abruptly, he launched out on his own to start a consulting business helping other companies use these tools. Jason’s passion for writing has contributed to hundreds of articles being written specifically to help others. That’s his goal with his upcoming book project – 100 Cups of Coffee in 100 Days.
Jason lives in Hendersonville, Tn with his wife and 2 children. His interests are encouraging others, family, music, writing and pursuing his faith.
More About 100 Cups
In 2010 when his current boss at the web design firm he worked for asked him to come into his ‘office for a minute,’ Jason Elkins thought “Finally, this was the job promotion meeting I’ve been waiting for.”
Instead his boss looked at him straight faced and in a deadpan tone said “we’re eliminating two positions today and your position is one of them.”
After a surreal 10minute drive home and sharing the news with his always supportive spouse, Jason and his wife spent the weekend talking, praying. Then his wife said something that would change his purpose for work and life. She said, “Maybe now you will start that business you are destined to start. God told me that this was going to happen. He’s given me total peace. We are going to be fine and I believe in you.”
Armed with a good work ethic and 1 marketing idea, Jason started implementing his strategy “100 Cups of Coffee in 100 Days” and was able to grow a social media marketing consulting business that is now deep into it’s 6th year.
His journey of entrepreneurship has opened doors for teaching social media at the college level: Volunteer State University, Union University and Belmont University. He also speaks regularly to business groups, trade groups and chamber organizations and keynote presentations at conferences.
Jason coaches entrepreneurs, local companies, and national brands on how to effectively use digital marketing platforms and social media.
What can I say about Jason and 100 Cups? They have taken what little we knew about Social Media (some of it incorrect) and helped us learn, expand, and grow our followers, page likes, organic interaction, and more faster and more effectively than we ever could on our own. But more than just practical advice and tips, his encouragement and accountability to help us do the best we can with these tools is what sets him apart. He genuinely cares for his clients and wants to see them succeed. He celebrates wins with us and continually helps us strive for more and more. There isn’t anything else we could want more.
